Underdrive Pulley

How much do you guys think it would cost to have a professional mechanic install and underdrive pulley? Also would I see any improvement with this being installed?

From what I have seen, it varies between $75-$200. Just make sure the mechanic knows how to install a UDP on a Maxima and that you have the right replacement belts. The difference I felt (butt dyno) with the UDP was that it responded better when pushed. But the most important and most noticeable gain is that the drag on the engine is gone when the A/C is turned-on.

unless you got a 5spd its worthless...
and honestly there is no point to have a UPD unless you're boosted in some way

with UDP you're revs are gonna be higher... so more gas usage..

Lol who did you hear that from?

You are better off saving for a y-pipe or headers if you dont have one or the other already.

yeah udp won't add revs at a given speed, what it will do is reduce the revs of accessories, pwr steering, a/c, etc, so it's really a cheap way to free up some power, but at the cost of steering reliability, and a/c performance, it's nickels and dimes, all mods are, it's about making your package work well, so an udp alone won't really give you what you looking for, but an intake, y-pipe, catback, udp, and maybe a fuel press regulator would give you a reliable, and decent performing vehicle, but any one of the mods done alone won't produce the change when you round out the entire package. keep that in mind when your looking for a couple hp
