2002 SE Purchase - Further Questions

HI,

i saw this beauty today....a 2002 SE (leather, sun/moon roof, dark blue) with 34,000 miles.

Are these the top options available on this car...how can i find out the 2002 SE options.

The dealer is selling for 19K and willing to go down to 17.8K. I would have to finance (i am a new buyer) with new credit (gradually being built), and awaiting further terms, and I may end up paying about $350 per month for this car. But i just want to find out if the MSRP is reasonable.

thanks - Noela

17 or so is bluebook...so him saying he is "willing to go down" may be some kind of sexual reference but definitely NOT a bargain.

Find a booklet for the 02 and you will see what's standard and what's not. But from what you've posted, the only options are leather and sunroof, the dealer's always say am/fm, cruise, tilt, etc etc, and that stuff is all standard on the Max.

16.5k and work up from there don't go passed 17k.

I would offer $17300 at the most. Also, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go with dealership financing if you have bad or no credit. Try applying online at Capital One or People's First. Just make sure you have financing worked out before going to buy the car. The special finance people will try to rip you a new one with the financing terms and rates. Know your credit history before walking in there to negotiate financing if you are going to go with in-house financing which I don't recommend. I worked at a Nissan dealership and walked people through special fi deals all the time.

NmexMax et al,

thanks for your responses...

I agree, I will seek other independent finance options. re vehicle options, I realize that the leather was not stock....i found a leather manufacture's booklet in the glovebox, and from the look and feel of the leather, it looks a bit cheap..well I will research more on this.

thanks - Noela

Here are some good sites. The 2nd one seems to have a good list of standard and optional equipment.
