Disconnected Exhaust??

hey guys,
my moms exhaust has just offically became RICE! haha it has rusted completely off right before the flange were it connects to the y pipe?? It sounds like a v8 in the garage. Well my dad is looking for a replacement. Do you then we could just get the pipe where it broke. Or are we gonna need to get a new muffler? Catback? any ideas guys? I was thinking just going to a exhause shop and asking them to custom make the pipe.

Thanks

Sean

excellent choice, that's the way i went, and it's the best sound and you can't match the power with other cat-backs. take a look, it's straight through.

do you have any pics of yours? How was the install? Anything im gonna need to look out for? I think getting the bolts off is gonna be the hardest part.

i don't have any pics of the install, sorry, and yeah the bolts on the cat-to- b-pipe were a little tough, you might have to get a chisel and hammer them counterclockwise, you could heat it, i cut the bolts and used new ones. air tools-air ratchet and perhaps an air hammer would be useful, but not necessary. I have the luxury of a lift, i don't recommend doing it on your back, it's no fun. Also i believe you will have a sensor after the primary cat, which i do not, and i'm not sure if the gooseneck where the sensor is gets replaced, if so be careful not to damage the sensor, and use anti-seize on the threads. reassambly is simple, first mock it up on the car, and bolt it up, but don't tighten it. Make sure all the hangers are attached and it's where you want it, then tighten it up. If it seems like it'll hit or rattle don't worry, it will line up correct only when fully tightened.

also don't be alarmed by the exhaust tone, it will change as you break in the resonator and muffler(which on the Greddy is just a really big resonator with packing material), the tone will likely get louder and lower until it settles, and the drone somtimes experienced can be remedied by a decent intake, short ram is most effective, and that will change the tone because the engine isn't choking on load so to speak.
