i was wondering if anybody have stock oem hid kit from 02-03 installed in their 00-01 stock headlights...if so how's the beam pattern and light output? pics would be great...

I've had that in my Maxima, I used Acura TL-S headlight igniters/ballasts with D2R bulbs. The light output was phenomenal, but the problem was.... it was WAY too strong. The lights where putting out crazzzy light. Every time I pulled out on the road and I was following a cop I thought I was going to get pulled over for the lights. So I removed them ASAP. I had them in my AE headlight housings. Right now I am looking for a set of 02-03 headlight housings- ONLY, to install my HID kit in them. I have like 5 complete sets of HID kits.

 

so it is possible to put on 2k2 HID in 2k1..

Its not plug n play if you use ballasts and bulbs from another car, you will have to rewire stuff, you will also have to mess with the base of the D2R bulb, also you will lose your high beams if you go this route. Before I had my 2k2 headlights, I had a high/low HID kit in my AE housings which was plug and play. Had the same deal as BlackBird, light output was awesome, but there was a ton of glare, and I got flashed frequently from oncoming traffic.

 

For the love of god, do not just throw D2R capsules in your H4 reflectors.

The only time you should be using D2R bulbs is when you have a housing made for them (i.e. OEM 2k2-2k3 housings). Other *good* alternatives would be to retrofit OEM HID projectors into your halogen housings. You could get away with a retro-kit with bulbs rebased to fit in your housings, but as others have posted above...chances are you're going to have LOTS of glare...which is just unsafe for others and completely irresponsible.
