Well I cleaned my throttle body by taking it off and cleaning both sides of the butterfly valve. There was a gasket between the two. Not too sure if I put it back on exactly the way it was. Now it seems at 3K I hear a loud sucking sound. I know this is normal for intakes, but I don't remember this sound before I did anything.
..... and now my SES light is on. I'm now at school so I can't reset it, but I will tonight and see if it stays off. Has anyone with a 2K2 taken off their throttle body, and how exactly did you put the gasket back on. There were these 3 taps on 3 sides with one side normal. I put the normal side up top.

This is what I found in ALLDATA at school about what to do if you disconnect the throttle body:
DESCRIPTION
"Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning" is an operation to learn the fully closed position of the throttle valve by monitorizing the throttle position sensor output signal. It must be performed each time harness connector of electric throttle control actuator or ECM is disconnected.
OPERATION PROCEDURE
Turn ignition switch "ON".
Turn ignition switch "OFF" wait at least 10 seconds . Make sure that throttle valve moves during above 10 seconds by confirming the operating sound.

I am doing the Seafoam on my boss' convertible tomorrow, should the process be the same... prolly so unless Chrysler put the hose in the trunk...

As of now my ground is off the battery and hopefully tomorrow the SES light will be gone when I hook it back up.
OK. I just did the Sea Foam Treatment. I also dont know for sure, but I think I am the first 5.5 gen to do it....
Basically, did as Sooner said and after the 5 min when starting the car, the SES tripped and then started blinking at me. I knew that there was NOTHING wrong but a build up of crapp that was moving around in there so I stayed on the gas and watched the street get cloudy.
After about 45 seconds the SES stopped blinking and went to solid. woo hoo. SES is still on but it will clear in a couple days. Car runs ok.
The only big difference I see is the IDLE. It is actually back up where it used to be. The last few months my idle has been very low, like almost dead car. Anyway, this is an OK cleaning function and it will work if you just take your time and dont try to ball out after putting this stuff in your car. a good minute of 3,000 RPM cleans it right out.

Now to everybody.. go to your favorite autopart and buy new oil and filter..also get an engine flush cleaner... pour it into the engine and clean the engine ... I just did and I have always used synthetic and to my surprise a lot of crap came out of the oil.. So everybody "FLUSH THE ENGINE AFTER SEA FOAM"
Have a nice weekend... hehehehehe

I foam, you foam, we all seafoam
I just Seafoamed my car. I went to
O'Rieleys and they had it for $5.69. I followed the instructions that someone else posted except I didn't submerge the whole vacuum line. I allowed it to suck up the seafoam and a little air at the same time which allowed the car to stay running and get all of the solution in at one time quickly so the motor could be stopped. Another quick note: if your doing this at home and your car is half way sticking out of the garage, be sure to tell your neighbors what your doing. I didn't and the result was several neighbors running over to my house with cell phones getting ready to call the fire dept. because they thought the house was on fire, from all the smoke. It took a good 4 min to get rid of the smoke from the exhaust. It seems to idle real smooth and the SES light didn't come on. The roads are wet now so I can't say much on performance yet.

Problems:
SES-came on as soon as I re-started her.
During the first drive when I came to a stop light, it almost died on me. When I accelerated, it started back-firing like crazy. A few minutes later the back-firing/missing went away. I drove straight to AutoZone, and they were closed.
It may be that something was already wrong with her, and using SeaFoam pushed her over the edge...
Will post the code tomorrow...

I did the sea foam to three of our cars last night,
My 02 Max with 31k
My 94 wrangler with 130K
and My mom's 01 Camry with 80k
My max basically didnt smoke at all, Jeep smoked for a little bit, while the camry smoked for a while, i mean a while!!!, also threw a code, but i reset it and its fine now
I've only driven the jeep since the change, and i dont feel anything yet, we'll see when i will drive my max tomorow

Just did the sea-foam on Saturday. I had valve rattle when the car was under a low load while driving. I gotta admit, the $5 on the seafoam was worth every penny. The car's running smooth as silk again! Just wanted to say thanks to all of you who recommened the stuff. Saved me a lot of money and/or my sanity!
Can you do that? Yes
Will it do the same thing? No

I had gotten my engine flushed about 2 weeks ago, Do you think I would have to do this again if i go with the seaform I mean oil change is a must for me right now but i dont wanna do the engine flush again. will it be really important to do?

Seafoam in the oil IS an engine flush. Why do it again with another engine flush? IMHO those 15 min engine flushes are too harsh on the engine IMHO.

I read the label and the Seafoam in the oil is more like an additive not a Flush. I was trying to get rid of all the crap that was in the engine oil after the sea foam ........
pretty sure you have to be carefull w/ this stuff, cant let too much get sucked up at at time, every thread i read on it says put it in SLOWLY, not sure what the consequnces are if you do it to quick.......
I found it at an autozone in a spray can, sprayed in half the can over 4-5 min, the other 1/2 went in the crankcase. let it sit for 1/2 hr, some white smoke on startup.....smoth idle restored some power.

The consequence of letting it suck in too fast would be the engine shutting down.

Seafoam
Just did the SEAFOAM gig. Just follow the directions on the can to the letter and let the hose suck air and the SEAFOAM at the same time so the engine won't die. Let it sit for 5 minutes and then start er up and maintain 3000 RPMs until no more white smoke. Helps a whole bunch-way smoother acceleration, start-up etc. Highly recommend it!
I used it last weekend too. Thanks to all ya'all for letting us plebians know how to do it. Incidentally, I used a different hose to pull the seafoam in. Theres a vaccuum hose that goes from the cast alum. intake to a resevoir thats mounted below the engine cover. It was easier to get to and should've had the same effect.
Any reason why you can't use the the hose that goes to the IACV? Take if off from valve and dip it into the seafoam. This way it goes through the butterfly and cleans everything in the intake tract. You won't get it on the Maf, because this hose is further down (on the 4th gen anyway
).
Not sure if this what the previous post was alluding to....
