What's the IACV? I pulled a little 1/4" hose off the intake and pulled in the seafoam from there. It was the first tube I could find after the MAF. I was trying to clean it as far forward as I could

Looks like that is the hose to the IACV ( Idle Air Control Valve), this controls your idle, letting air into the intake since your butterfly is closed. How did this method work? Maybe you could've let some get sucked into the IACV also to clean up things.Originally Posted by GBAUER

Worked out well. My entire condo association was covered in white smoke. My engine is running like it was new again (I have 96k on it). It was the IACV that I used to pull it in. I don't think it made any difference to the IACV, but I wasn't having problems with it to begin with. About the only thing that worries me is that the car is way too quiet now. I swear it may even be more quiet now than when it was new. From the interior, I can't hear the engine at idle anymore. Now I'm just waiting for something to break!
