Nissan or Brembo (or other) rotors?

I have got the Nissan brake pads (both front and rear) and I am now trying to decide what rotor to get.

Some say OEM ones while many others sweat by Brembo rotors. Price is similar between the two.

Please help with this tough decision. Got an 01 Maxima GXE with 56k miles now.

(4) Cross drilled and slotted Brembo Rotors $239 + $27 shipping. I purchased mine for $198 + $21 shipping but Brembo has recently raised their prices.

www.sportbrakes.com

send email to sales@sportbrakes.com

you can also find them on Ebay....look up user Sportbrakecom

Get whatever's cheaper. People have warped the so-called "brembo" rotors too. And cross-drilling isn't necessary for street use. Cross-drilled rotors often develop stress cracks anyway which isn't good.

A good solution to try and prevent warpage (if you're having that problem) would be to try the Blehmco kit with the larger 2k4 Maxima rotors. You could also try frozenrotors (I have them), though I'm gonna put some significant mileage on them before I state whether or not they're "warp-proof."

Keep in mind I warped a set of OEM 2k4 rotors with the BlehmCo kit too... it's a nice kit but somehow I beat the assumptions I am pretty sure I have other problems going on too though (possible wheel bearings going out... that could help cause such a thing...)

Very nice braking though...

Really? Yikes! Nevermind what I said about the Blehmco kit then.

Go w/Brembo, the metal is better in quality than the OEM's rotor.

Thanks to all.

OK, for street use I will have the Brembo blanks with Nissan pads.

Now thinking about installing them myself. It does not sound too bad since I do oil/filter changes, coolant/power steering/brake fluid change and PCV change myself.

BlehmCo kit probably solves heat issues if you're doing extreme driving and that's all your problem is... but if you have anything else going on that might be instigating the warpage, all bets are off.

Cool. I was looking at this web site. Other posts also indicated a further discount when mentioning from Maxima org.

This is very helpful (to save a few bux).
