WOW - It came in a week!

I spoke to Steve at FrankenCar last Friday and he said he had exhaust units in stock. And Poof! It is here.

The packaging is the best I have ever seen for an exhaust. Good Job Frankencar.

The exhaust is nice, I think I am going to be happy with this one and wish I would not have gone through so many other options to find the right one.....

Once again, I am not let down by Frankencar. The intake has been the #1 thing I did and still to this day love it, and now this. I know they have a bad wrap at times, but I think it comes down to this not being their full time jobs...

If you want a good setup and are willing to wait the week, I def recommend it. The best thing is the price, you honestly cant beat it. It seems high, but it isnt.

Now on to waiting for the D2s.... still havent seen them in a month now.

Looks good and yeah franken car can take their time to ship things out some times. IS the chrome peeling off the tips? It just looks like that in the pics. Let us know how it sounds.

if you have a stock car and you add this muffler, how loud will the Maxima be. I like it as quiet as possible...

No, that is the reflection from the ceiling above.

THese are polished also, not chrome. The unit is real nice. Made well. Even better than the Magnaflow system I have now.

I dont know yet. I hear this is the best one for no drone.

This is NOT a straight through design so it wont be that loud. If you do a header or Y pip, then you get some real nice growl without that sorry drone.

They are stock quiet except when you're going WOT. The combination of aftermarket intake & y-pipe/header will create a very nice exhaust sound, indeed. No drone whatsoever.

The muffler is kinda heavy so good luck w/the installation using stock rubber hangers. If you have fitment issue or the banging noise when hit a pothole or something. Let me know...I have a solution for that.

That exhaust looks very similar to the Cattman one that I have, slightly different tips. If the sound is similar between the two, then you will LOVE the sound, not loud at all. WAYYYYY better than Greddy EVO

If you like it as quiet as possible then you most likely can't beat the stock muffler.

I love my Greddy EVO and the warm, throaty sound... ... but sadly, when my y-pipe gets here, it'll probably have to go if its too loud... I'm gonna give it a shot, but I already know its gonna be too much...

I just installed mine. It sounds nice, no drone as others have also said. Looks nice too except for the couple dents FedEx added, but not bad enough to return.

I do have a banging sound coming from the trunk when going over bumps. I tried adjusting the hose clamps that were provided but to no avail. How do I get rid of the banging?

Well, don't hold out on me my Maxima/VA brotha.... Give up the tid-bits....

Or is this an "in person" thing?

I know it will bang, my current setup did, so I know this one will.

$225 shipped.

I already have a 2.5 B-Pipe so I didnt need the full kit. The full Kit is $400.

LOL. Good one! FYI: I had posted this before a few months ago.

Anyway, the easy and cheapest solution that works for me (after spend lots of time figuring out how to adjust the hangers w/the clamps) was: I got an extra rubber hanger and just sandwiched it between the rear top edge of the muffler and the body frame (that is where the noise came from). Then, slightly tighten the clamps up on the (2) rear rubber hangers so that the muffer is securely position from vertical movement. The extra rubber hanger will cushions the muffler from banging against the metal frame when go over bumps.

I am now officially jealous!

BTW, Ihave heard you can use Nismo hangars which are stronger than our OEM ones, and that will eliminate the banging due to the extra weight of the FC muffler.

I'll have to come by and see it one of these days!

Initially I bought (2) "Nismo" hangers from ebay. They did helped but couldn't eliminated the banging noises when go over larger road bumps. So I took one of the stock rubber hanger (hint: "extra" rubber hanger ^^) and sandwiched between the muffler and frame. Eversince, no more banging noises!!!

OH, hey man! Nice meeting you the other day. Another Org member spotting the other guy checking out his car... ha ha.

Hey, when I left. Could you hear my exhaust? How did it sound? At WOT, it is ok, but normal driving, it is just ugly sounding, especially in the car.

I'm helping a buddy move to his new condo in Reston town center (another maxima owner, not on the org though...) so I probably will be busy all day....maybe we can meet up Sunday before football (Go Skins!)...definitely want to see/hear the FC up close (only seen it once at a meet...)

Yo Rob, I'd like to check it out sometime if possible too... you've gotten me very interested in Frankencar now... and I need a quieter muffler...

Btw, Josh, I love the fogs... that yellow was what I was looking for... I just need to angle the lights up a little more... I'll post pics when everything is done. Thanks.

Well.... the B-PIPE and the Franken Rear are NOT a match. It is OK. I didnt know for sure and thought that OBX and Franken might take different angles. Soooo, I had to order the B-pipe from franken too.... Sigh. Now to wait till it comes in.
