Annoying rattle from middle of dash
#1
Hey guys...I looked for this it the sticky files but could not find it as one of the rattles that have solutions.
It is more of a buzz that seems to be coming right from the middle of the dash-either from the clock area or up near the vents at the windshield...I'm not 100% sure on that though...
Seems to really make the noise on right hand turns....go figure....really loud and annoying once it starts.
Any ideas and possible fixes? I hate to bring it to the dealer as they usually create more rattles trying to fix one.
Does this sound like they's need to rip the whole dash out to attempt to fix this?
Any advice much appreciated!

I've had my dash rattles attended to on no less than 3 separate occasions. My experience is that NOTHING works. The rattles go away for a little while after the TSB fixes are applied. But they're back within a matter of days and just as noisy as ever. I've come to the conclusion that my car is simply going to be plagued with rattles, buzzes, moans and groans until the day it dies.
My wife has a 2K GXE and her car isn't nearly as noisy as mine. I suspect a lot of it has to do with the differences in our suspensions and tire geometries. Her GXE doesn't ride as stiffly as my SE does. That's one of the reasons why I've decided not to lower my car. If I were to lower it, I suspect the rattles would get worse than they already are . . . if that's possible.
My advice to anyone concerned about rattles, buzzes, etc.? Turn up your stereo!
