Automatic Trans Problems
Hey guys I just came across this board and would like to see if one of you guys could help me out. I've searched the board and couldn't find a similar post.
I have a 2000 Maxima SE which has never been driven hard or a couple of months ago I noticed a rustling sound coming from the trans. On my way to work yesterday, I noticed the car wouldn't go past 4K rpms. When I give it some gas, it feels like the transmission is just slipping. The same thing occurs when I am in low rpms and give it some gas to downshift. Is my torque converter toast? I would like some thoughts on what to expect when I take it in for service.
