Plug change with NIssan coupon

I got some coupons in the mail for NIssan service, and one of them is Tuneup special - 6cyl for $69.99. It states that platinum plugs are extra. Did anybody use this and how much did you end up paying?
Sounds like a good deal given you gotta take the mainifold off

Something is fishy here? Call the dealer and check it out? The tuneup may not apply to the V6 in the Maxima.

Well, just call them tomorrow. The dealer would probably charges at least 0.5-2.0 hrs for labor alone to replace the sparkplugs. If their rate is @ $75/hr, how the heck are they gonna make a profit? From experience, the dealer will do what it takes to make money! I am in doubt with the coupon!

FYI: It took me almost an hour to replace all 6-sparkplugs. The parts alone will cost at least from $20 (non-platinum) to $70 (Platinum/Iridium).

Send me the coupon info. I will call them tomorrow if you don't.

ive seen people post up about this coupon and the dealer explained to them that it was more labor intensive so the coupon did not apply. however, if you get the dealer to go for it then dont look back.

That's my plan. My dealer is used to me brining a whole mess of them. I've been getting $12.95 oil changes for the past year on my 2 cars ....and they used Castrol GTX, so you can't even do it yourself for cheaper. I will be scheudling this pretty soon (I just hit 75K), so I will let you know.

WHOA.... ok. Taking the intake manifold off to replace the rear plugs is not that hard. It just unbolts off and make sure u have something covering the inlet so no dust gets into the engine. Call Dave Burnette up at 888-254-6060 and get some plugs a lot cheaper.

The dealer will charge you for the labor required to removed the manifold. In my case they wanted $279 from the original $79. I finally did it myself. Now I have to do it again since I noticed oil in one of the spark plug chambers when I did the rear plugs. Have a valve cover gasket and spark plug chamber seals on order. I am going to get real good at this manifold removal thing.

That is what I had originally speculated. The $79 is for just removing/replacing the old sparkplugs w/some crappy sparkplugs.
You better off doing it yourself and save your money. It is always rewarding to do the work yourself provided that you know what you're doing.
