service engine soon

I ran our 2000 Maxima a little below a quarter tank of gas and it started running a little rough. I got gas as soon as I could and the car is running great. This is the third day and the light is still on, one dealer said I would have to bring the car in and have them clear it for $104, another dealer said if the car is running well the light would clear on its own. Help

get to autozone to have the code retrieved. its should be free.
if not, make some calls to your local mechanics... one of them is gonna do it for free...

The labor is:
15 secs to take the reader out of the drawer
10 secs to get in the car
10 secs to connect the cable
10 secs to browse in the reader
02 secs to read code
10 secs to unplug
03 secs to thank the mechanic.

one big minute to do it. the stealer will steal you.

when you have the code, browse back to maxima.org... you can find all the codes in here (somewhere in the stickys I think).
