I need to replace my passenger side wndow switch in the front door. To avoid breaking any of those typical plastics clips that hold in door skins, can someone give me a good explanation of the best procedure to take off the door skin.


On a side not, i recently had my driver's seat leather fixed where it was separating from the vinyl inserts. I know some ppl had been asking questions awhile ago (myself including me) about how to fix this. I took the car to an upholstry shop and they took the entire seat apart and stitched in new material for about $200. Looks good now...althought I think that I was likely the only one who could have noticed it before anyway.

You can buy a door panel removal tool to help you (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jrT7PVt...820&I=18187650). The clips are pretty sturdy. When I replaced my OEM speakers, I pulled the panel by the slot that is located at the bottom (your fingers can be fitted between the panel and the door thru that slot) and then work my way to the sides using the tool, once I had some separation between the panel and the door. Hope it makes sense and helps you. It is hard to explain without picture...

yea use a door popper like I did. you put the clip in between the opening of the popper and squeze the handle and it will pop the panel without damaging the clip.

they have that tool at my work to remove clips from shelving and it doesnt break them. dont over look that oh but you shouldnt get it from crutchfieldi am sure they have that at auto zone or your local auto parts store

make sure to take out the screw thats hidden behide the circle tab on both the driver and pass front doors or you will pull it of the foam piece inside the panel...

(circle tab is on the panel towards the front of the car, this is before you take the panel off the door. is one of the screws to take off before popping the clips)
