Zex did good tonight!!!!!
Well after a disappointing 15.2 a week ago at the track, I decided to go try it again, this time with the weather in my favor. Last week it was 85 degrees with high humidity, and tonight it was 65 degrees with low humidity. And I was able to run a 14.81 @ 94 mph. I was much happier with this, considering that I am only using a 55 shot. I now plan to upgrade fuel and ignition and go with either the 65 or 75 shot and move that time on down into the low 14's.
Install notes on ZEX for a 5th gen....
Well I highly recommend that if you don't know anything about the stuff involved with this install you pay someone to do it. It is fairly simple except for one part. And that is hooking up the voltage wire to the TPS (throttle postion sensor). Here are the steps in hooking up ZEX!
1. You want to look at the engine bay and find somewhere to mount the zex box. Our engine bays are slightly crowded.
2. After this is done, run all of your lines to the bottle and you will need to drill a hole in your intake with the bit and nozzle that is supplied by zex.
3. Next, you will need to hook up the power (red) and ground (black) wires to the place of your choice. After doing this you will need to look inside the car and find where you want to mount your activation switch. Do this and hook up the wires that go with the switch.
4. After all of this is done, you will need to run the rubber hoses that are supplied to the fuel pressure regulator. You will have one going from the regulator to zex and vice versa. The fuel pressure regulator is located between the intake heads and the front block of the engine.
5. When you have finished this all that is left is to adjust the TPS. For this you will need a volt meter and a friend to help. The TPS is the big thing located on the right side of the thottle body. There are two screws, you will need to barely loosen these screws so that you can turn the TPS. Before loosening these screws find the wire that is running into the TPS, that is reading somewhere around .56 Volts at idle and then will go to 3.99 Volts at full throttle. After finding this wire, go ahead with the screws. Once they are loose and you are able to turn the TPS, slightly turn it down ( clockwise if you are looking into the engine bay from the front of the car). Be watching the volt meter so that you will know when the TPS has been adjusted enough to allow the ZEX to open. The ZEX kit requires 4.2 Volts to open, but can only handle 6 Volts of power. Once this is done you should be ready to hook up the bottle and feel the power that you wish you had all along.
p.s. By installing the ZEX the way I did you will mess with the tranny just a bit. Because the TPS controls the tranny somewhat. Therefore by adjusting this your car will almost act like you have a small shift kit on the car.
Anyway have fun and don't blow up your car, be safe. These instructions don't guaruntee anything or warantee anything.

Tranny mods...
The only thing that I have done to the tranny so far is put the Hayden tranny cooler on it. I am looking to do the valvebody recalibration when I get the time to have down time with my car. I have not had any problems with the tranny using the 55 shot, but I am not going to test my luck with any thing larger until I get the vb recal.

Dude, he's using an automatic. Nothing he could practice!
Maybe some reaction time....but he could practice that everyday at the red light!

Don't underestimate people who drive autos. I know someone that takes their foot off the accelerator near redline and plant their foot back on the accelerator after it shifts.
