does this even make any sense? I liked the way my car sounded before, but all of a sudden, my car is really loud... to the point where i can't stand it. It is either due to the cold, or maybe i have a leak somewhere? any ideas?

Cold weather changes metal, sound deadening materials/insulation sound, absorb, or amplify certain frequencies.

But I'd check around the leaks also

hmmm, thats odd. I am still going to go have it checked out for leaks though... it is so loud right now, it makes things vibrate inside my car at certain rpms. I feel like a ricer. lol.

Cold metal contracts, so if you had a marginal weld or connection the cold could create a gap and hence more noise. I had a bad stock muffler on a new 89 Maxima and when it was cold it was very loud and got quiet as the car warmed up.

HOLY CRAP! Well, I found out what the problem is! I looked under the car tonight after I started it, and i heard a rattle. I took out my flashlight, and where the y-pipe and the CAT meet, the bolt is almost completely off! I touched it with my finger, and two twists later, it came off... this is crazy. I am glad i found the problem... Going to fix it 1st thing tomorrow.

thanks for the help anyways guys. atleast i know why the car was so darn loud now.
