maf trouble...

maf trouble...

ok so i pulled the clip for the maf while the vehicle was running me=stupid. ok now it is running horribly. so does this problem reset it's self or do i now need to go to the dealership. i tried to reset it by disconnecting the battery, did not help. what is happening is it seems as if the maf is still disconnected i does not know the proper fuel to give or whatnot some one help please

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you are talking about, what "clip" from the MAF did you remove? If the MAF is shot, just buy a new one. Otherwise, please clarify.

Just plug it back in. Make sure the plug is seated correctly and the "clip" pops back out as it engauges. The CEL will go away after the car see's several normal run cycles, might take upwards of 2 weeks, but rest assured if the MAF is OK the light will go out.

well it is on secure, and it is still running like ****. i am starting to think that it really is shot... oh well i guess i'm buying a new one *edit* ok well just started it up and the revs just fell unill it died. took maybe 7 seconds of revs fluctuating and falling until it hit zero. and if i give it gas it seems to choke out so maf is fried? if so how much for a new one?
