CAF? installed Clean Air Filter.

I know the manual says 30K but jeez mine was filthy at 14.5K and I live in the city and havent driven around much construction. Just takes 2 secs to peek in and see if its clean. I just looked in because I *thought* it was a 15K item. After seeing it, I replaced it anyway.. they are pretty cheap.

Makes you wonder about the claims for the K&N or Amsoil filters. Did they replace a dirty stock filter with a new aftermarket? That would give them great gains!

hehe.....my air filter looked really nasty just after 7k miles. I switched to a K&N.....

Import tuner gave a test on the K&N. With no filter on Maxima SE, 4.4hp gain, with K&N, 4.0hp gain.

k&N review

The part people leave out is the K&N was tested AFTER the HKS exaust was installed. If you have a stock exaust the gains from just a K&N will be less.
