Finally Got 'Em!

I just hooked up with one of my friends yesterday and got me a set of 18" G35's.( Thanks Chang!) I will probably install them on Monday, after work. We'll see how much rubbing issues I'll have since my Max is on Tein S-Techs. The back tires are about 60% tread, so I may be looking into new tires within the next few months...235/40/18's more than likely. I think the coupe's are 18"x8", so is that the right size tire? Any suggestions? I've heard a lot of good things about Falken Ziex 512's. Input please.

Search for a poster named Pablosal. He's also got a pearl 5th gen with G35C rims.

Yeah, the 18" are 8" wide. Are you getting them with the stock tires (Michelin Sport Pilots)? If so, they're performance tires, so don't expect them to last forever. Stock setup is staggered (225/45 and 245/45). Since the 225/45 is really hard to find, most people run 245/40 up front and 245 or 255/45 in the back on their coupes. Don't know if that would work on a Max, but that's what G people do.

Yeah, I'm figuring on changing the rear tires soon ( next few months ), not only because the tires are gonna wear out soon, but also because I may run into some issues with the width/offset of the tire/wheel. I've heard of some guys with the same wheels and having no issues with rubbing. However, most of them were running Maxspeed's or Eibach's. I'm not sure if the .3" difference in the rear drop (Maxspeed 1.3" vs. Tein 1.6") will make that much difference, but we'll soon see. Any other tire suggestions in the 235/40/18 size?

I still got my 350's, but I'm giving them to my friend. Actually he hooked me up and we're trading for the G35's. He came across this set from a friend and figured they'd look better on my Max than on his Toyota p/u. Since he needed new tires, and the tires on my 350's are cherry, and the 350's fit the truck, we traded. Solid deal! I actually went to the shop this morning and put the G35's on. They look sweet! They actually rub less than I expected. But then again, I had 3 people in the car. I'm pretty sure if I put 235/40/18's on the back I'll be ok. Plus I'm planning on massaging the 1/4 panels tomorrow after work. I'll try and get some pics up as soon as I can. Those 245/45/18's are pretty big in the back. It totally fills up the gap with the help of the S-Techs!

Nice, congrats.

So there's a Toyota P/U running around with Z rims?

Not just yet, I still got the rims at our shop. I'm going to drop them off a tmy friends house sometime this week. It's pretty nuts, 'cuz my friend has a older Toyota p/u ( pre-Tacoma days ) and will be running those!

They're bumper guards to protect paint chipping -- NYC people can't park.

Thanks man, I think they look pretty shweet 2! I got a KILLER deal on these from one of my boys. They look nice with the S-Tech drop, but they do rub a bit in the rear. If you can tell me how to post pics, I'll put 'em up. Sorry, I'm a computer moron!

Thanks for all the love, guys! I posted this in the tire and wheels forum, but got no responses. I know it's OT...well there really wasn't a topic.......but has anybody tried Kumho ASX's? I was reading the reviews and specs for them on Tirerack, and they seem pretty impressive. The treadwear is listed at 420, and they're cheap too. Any feedback....positive or negative? I may be replacing my rear tires in a few months. Other suggestions?

I guess that didn't work. When I created my page, I wasn't able to find it when I grouped it by my year Max? But, if I search by states, and look in Hawaii, there it is. Strange......anybody know why?

You never know when you'll come across a good deal. I had forgotten about getting these, then out of the blue, one of my friends called me up and asked if I'd be interested. I was like....you damn right I'd be interested!
