Polishing the headlamp
Polishing the headlamp
Hey guys, sometime ago I purchase some polishing equipment from www.caswellplating.com this morning I decided to give it a try on my 2k2 headlamp which has hases, scratches, yellowness, paint and what else, I started with the biggest scratches to see if this stuff really works, using the white compound first and let me tell you this suff works great, it take some time to get there but the final result is simply great, the final polishing will be done with the blue compound. Dont get me wrong here it's going to take few hours to do each side to do a perfect job, I hope to finish this one before the week-end and I'll hopefully post some pics.

For the headlight you need wite & blue compound and 2 types of buffing wheel, the loose cotton wheel to use with the wite compound, this compound will remove scratches, paint, haze etc, it has a cutting action and the blue is for the final polish and has no cutting action. This stuff is used by the pro and will give you the best result but you need to make the jobs.

What you need is the white & blue compound ( white for cutting and blue for polishing ) also you need loose cotton wheel ( to buff with the white compound ) and the canton flannel wheel for final polishing with the blue compound. I suspect it's going to take maybe 2 hours per headlamps to buff inside out but it's going to give an incredible result, I had some good scratches and it only took like 10-15 minutes buffing to remove it completely, if you take your time the result is going to be simply awesome, to my knowledge nothing will give you that kind of result.
If you have a banch grinder spinning 3600 rpm just buy the wheel and compound and you'll have a kit that can buff anything, I bought the white, blue, brown and yellow compound, so I'm set to polish aluminum, SS, cast iron, metal, plastic etc.
It cost me about 100$ cdn for everything I needed and trust me I' ll be able to polish almost everything under the hood, it will only take times to accomplish the work.
