UPPER oil pan assy hlp needed 2000 GLE V6
I did my friend a disfavor by driving her and her babied car over a median and disintegrating 1.a passenger front rim and 2. the UPPER oil pan assy. part no: (11110-31022). I originally thought the oil gusher was coming from the main oil pan but not so. It turned out just fine however the upper oil pan assy has a nasty crack in it due to a "Nissan" Tag. The tag that says "Nissan" that bolts right above the lower oil pan caught the median and well attempted to drop the engine without the aid of Craftsman tools. Long story short I have 3 days to replace it while she is in Las Vegas bringing in the New Year. I have the parts on order and should be here 12/31/04. If anyone has reading material related to the disassembly and/or reassembly of the upper oil pan or advice I would be so thankful!! I cannot order a service manual because it won't get here until she is already back. thanks again.
p.s. sugarnipps is her call-sign not mine!

to remove and install the upper oil pan you will have to remove the lower oil pan first then the engine support cross member then the front pipe. did you buy the front and rear "crescent" seals (the rear is known as the rear main oil seal retainer gasket) the parts guy will know what you are talking about. have fun. you can get it done with hand tools in say 6hrs, if all goes well. oh yeah when you try to pull the upper oil pan off make sure you remove the transmission drain plug (catch and save the fluid). belive it or not but the drain plug obstructs you from pulling the upper oil pan free.
have fun!!!!!!

thanks guys she was in the car when it happened. I just want to make sure I do a good job since I value her friendship since she did get me my job. Does anybody know the purpose of that tag that says "Nissan" on it?
