something bangs under my car...

I am getting bangs under my car on bumps usually at speeds over 40mph, but sometimes at lower speeds also. It started happening after I installed Warpseed Y-pipe and had my Progress RSB adjusted by a mechanic. I've read that the RSB can bang, but I also saw a few posts that Y-pipe can bang also. How can I tell the difference between the bangs? What's more likely?

both are likely. but the y pipe bang is typically heard on accleration since the exhaust is pushing down. the rsb bang is heard going over bumps. you can eliminate the y pipe bang by removing the black cross member under the y pipe. you can eliminate the rsb by loosening the bolts on the bushing and moving them further in or out. without knowing its location right now, i could not tell which way to adjust the rsb bushing.

Its under the beam alright, but my mechanic decided to help me and moved the brackets all the way to the welds. Before they were about 1 inch away from the welds. I looked for some info on the site and found that the brackets should be about 4.5 inches from the "curve", whatever that is. So I had them moved 4.5 inches from the welds. It still bangs.

make sure the rear sway bar sits before the rear beam meaning towards the front of the car....
