Yup, you will have to cut like 1" off the pipe to make it work, but I had heard from old posts that you will lose horse power with the AEM bypass valve installed.

it kinda restricts the air flow like if you put a rag or yout tee shirt over your mouth and blow through it but i know that especially here in san fran where it can get wet fast i would rather loose a couple horse power and save the engine if a puddle would happen to jump out of no wheres

Why install a bypass? Why not just never drive through standing water instead??

^^ haven't you ever been in situations where you're on a busy road that happens to have a flooded part and there isn't anywhere really to stop or pull over or turn around? couple days ago i was on a one way road that a lot of people take with no shoulder, an area was flooded, had to go right through it unless you're gonna stop up traffic

Your mistake was getting an Injen to begin with. Living in Irvine, this shouldn't be an everyday occurence for you.

i really dont think the injen falls that short. I drove my intake in deep water (filter is level with tranny and im lowered) and i didnt hydrolock luckily

So if there was 2' of water you'd go through?

I wouldn't do that with a stock setup, much less with an injen. One way road or not, if it was flooded I'm turning around.

With the position of the Injen intake you'd have water coming in your doors before you'd start sucking water in through the intake. Injen isn't bad... looks cool but WAY overpriced IMO.

Although I have a Place Racing CAI it works the same as the Injen in the sense of it being a CAI, I did put on a bypass valve at least for right now and probably thru the spring because of where my CAI is located (about five inches from the tire) and is pretty much exposed to the elements and I didn't want to take any chances until the weather gets better, plus it only took me 20min to put it on so taking it off will be a snap. It DOES kill hp and sound SLIGHTLY, or at least it does on the PR CAI.

I had to cut the pipe before I put on the bypass valve so it didn't make a difference. If your worried about moisture (especially living in MA) and you want to be on the safe side, put it in, it'll drop your power slightly but not by much.
