MAF, again....

Pls clear this up. I have a 2000, never changed MAF. Past 3500, my engine doens't do too much although rpm accelerates with speedo. hard to explain sound, but its like its having a heart attack.

Intake, y-pipe, stick, and i still feel slow. I accelerate alongside honda's and hyundais and put my head down. So I hear replace MAF can get rid of that surging.

What MAF am I getting, another 2000 version from dealer? Isn't just gonna go bad again? Are other models more responsive?

any maf you buy from a dealer now is going to be the updated one. i am unaware of any failures with the new maf as long as it used on a 3.0 motor. is your ses light on by chance or do you get any shaking when in gear but not moving like say at a light? it could be the maf but it could be alot of other things as well. could also be a really dirty air filter, clogged up fuel filter, worn out plugs, misfiring coils, etc.
