Problem with remote trunk release????

When I push the button to release the trunk it makes a loud bang and pops & unlocks................but it does not rise at all. It stays down. It even looks shut. My question is on your car does the trunk actually raise up a couple of feet or a couple of inches or somemtihing or does yours do the same as mine. Thanks I figured I would ask before I started messing with the latches.

kevon, mine does the same thing, barely notice that the trunk is open - thought ot might be the extra weight of the spoiler - any one else's answer ?

It's the weight of the spoiler. Liube the gasket with silicon to keep it from sticking, but it won't raise more than an inch.

Well.

I appreciate the answers. It was just bugging me because I kind of remember the trunk going about half way up. But this is my second maxima maybe it was my old 96 that would go up. Thanks again.
