i remember motor trend doing a test on one of those things. they put one on a bmw 540 and did some testing. they found that it reduced gas mileage and actually hurt performance marginally. as someone already said, it restricts airflow...bad idea
Why bash this?
I bought the Tornado air for my maxima. First i installed the tornado air directly befoe the throttle body and acceleration decreased and the car felt more sluggish. I took it out,and the car felt normal again. I then re-installed it directly after the airbox and before the maf sensor. (more wrench time needed for this location) I did indeed feel a difference in the cars acceleration (for the better)it really did feel quicker than stock. i would recommend this mod, but only if you install it right.
Avoid the Tornado gimmick
I bought one of these for my 97 Ford Thunderbird (4.6L V-6). My car dyno'ed at rear wheels (with other mods) at 216HP and 305Lbs, and 197HP and 279Lbs after the Tornado piece of sh/t. Numbers don't lie! Worst $80 I ever spent.

I've got one of these, didn't do a damn thing for me, it now adorns my PC speaker subwoofer. If anyone would like it or try it on the dyno then its yours. Works really good as the worlds first corrosion resistant paperweight or a great conversation starter
Everyone is right about this. i think its common sense. When you add that think it restricts the air flow so you burn less gas. When less air comes, less gas will be sprayed (for injection cars). this product its only good for saving money on gas.

edit: one year, eleven months and counting... why don't "tornado air" threads get locked?
