Where can i get a good (better flowing) catalytic converter for my 00 max? My stock has gone bad. On a budget as well. Any brand names out there? (also gonna bolt on to my stock exhaust system)

I also have a Warpspeed Cat. Works fine but it's alot louder than the stock Cat. I got mine for $85 including shipping. Bought it back in November. Just tell them your a member of the .org and they should give you the same discount.

I have a full stock exhaust. It doesn't sound rice. Just rumbles. It sounds ok. It just suprised me when I started my car up after I put it on.

If you're on a budget why not get it replaced under warranty? I think the warranty on the cat is 8/80.

It's not loud enough to drown out your music. It's one of those things that you as the car owner will notice. No one else will notice it unless you point it out to them. It's really not that noticeable at driving speeds. It's most noticeable when you start your car. If it's cold out it's a little louder till it warms up.

Did you notice any increase in power due to the decrease in backpressure and restriction? If so, can I replace it if mine isn't bad?

It doesn't matter who you bought it from, its the manuafacturer's warranty. If you are under 80k mi, you have warranty.

Yeah I do notice some performance increases. Car has a little more pep on the highway when I floor it. Throttle reponse is a noticeably better too. My old cat really needed to be changed. It was a pain to get it off. The bolts were rusted something fierce. Only 1 of the bolts came off with the socket. I had to cut off 2 of the other ones. The last one I removed with a special socket for stripped bolts. I was surprised the cat looked that bad after only 5 years. I also noticed there is a ground wire that was hooked to one of the bolts on the cat. It somehow came loose. It must have came off a while ago. I wonder if that ground wire might have caused my P0420 SES code? I haven't reconnected it yet b/c it broked off the post and I lost the post when I took my old cat off. I'm just gonna buy a new ground wire and put it on then reset my computer and see if the SES come back on or not. Hopefully it won't..

Get the Warspeedperformance's Metallic substrate CAT. It is less restrictive in exhaust flows compared to the ceramic type. It's twice the cost of the ceramic type though.

Not sure how to tell but get under your car and look at it and the bolts. If your bolts are all rusted and stripped looking you might want to get a new one. Mine looked horrible. Even the gaskets looked bad. It looked like it came off a car in the junkyard or something.
