putting max on jackstands?

I'm sick of putting my max on ramps so i wanna put it on jackstands to change the oil. My question is where do u jack the car up from to get the stands under the car? can u jack up the front hooks?

hey thanks a lot man, never seen that thread. I never thought of jacking up the whole front or whole rear of the car then placing the jackstands under the car. I hope those two spots mentioned are strong enough to support all that weight.

Yes... that was a very informative thread for me too.... I've been (cautiously) jacking it up using parts I shouldn't be... at least I got the jack points right...

I meant jack stand points...

The notches on the frame that I think you're referring to are the points for using the emergency jack that comes with the car, and not the jacks that most of us use. I've been using those points to jack the car up and then slide my jack stands to the appropriate points... but the frequent use of those notched edges is slowly bending them out of shape. I need to get an adaptor of sorts to prevent that or use another jack point.

Read the thread in that link... you'll see what I'm talkin about...

Jay's point was that he wanted to know what points were best for a garage jack I believe, since the notched points on the frame are for the emergency jack and prolonged use of them with a garage jack (with no proper adaptor) will likely cause some sort of damage. I can attest to this, since I've started to bend mine.

Stop trying to start trouble in here will ya? Just because you have one post stickied doesn't mean you're all that and give ya the right to start crapping on others...
