Anyone hear this on 2k2 SE?

I noticed that when I step on gas hard when the car was stopped, I heard like a "belt pulling" noise. Also SoCal was raining a lot few weeks ago, and I heard a loud noise from the radiator or some belts inside with or without turn on the A/C, anyone else heard it from their 2k2 SE?

Probably your tires spinning. Every time I step on the gas hard, thats what happens to me.

Usually a belt will make a high pitched squeel. I've not heard any strange sounds from mine.

DO you have traction control? You may be hearing a bit of wheel slip before TC kicks in. You wouldn't feel much but you may hear it.

I don't think it sounded like tire spinnig... how about when it rains, it made a loud noise somewhere in the belts?

By the way, how many belts are in 2002 Maxima? Only timing belt? or also drive belt?

Also, when does it need to be replaced? Thanks.

Two belts. The main belt for the crank, alternator, ac and another one for the power steering. I just replaced the main one after 63000 miles and I am glad I did. It was cracked really bad. I attempted to replace the power steering belt, but I couldn't get to one nasty, PITA to get to bolt. The good news is my power steering belt does not have any cracks and it should last for quite a while more.

The belts are getting wet and slipping on the pullies. I had this happen to me during the hurricanes down here.
