Cracked fog light

I just realized I have a cracked fog light. Damn, sometimes I hate Nissan engineering quality. I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Can someone post me a quick link to the cheapest replacement? thanks

Any chance in getting just the Lens, and not the whole assembly?

That's states nothing on engineering quality controls.

Let's see you be placed in that area of a car and not have anything happen to you over a course of year.

I've only had the car for 2 months.

My point is this: I've had a few cars with fog lights and driven them well past 100k miles with nothing cracking. The fog lights should not be cracking and if there was a small possibility of this happening, Nissan should give us the option of replacing the lens at a reasonsble cost. The whole issue of the front end withstanding small rocks and stones is very frustrating to say the least. We are needlessly being screwed by poor engineering.

I just replaced mine with aftermarket 1's from Wal-Mart that have city lights and look great for $39.99 and fit in the existing mounts with longer bolts.
there is a pix in the sig. ... It is 1 of the best bang for the buck mod that I have put on my car in a long time!!!!!

Doesn't matter when YOU got it, it be safe to say it's 2 years old b/c in Jan of 03 is when they stopped making them.

I agree on the paint chipping though.

Total age of the car has no bearing on this thread. The time of my ownership does though. I guess I could re-phrase - After only 2 months of ownership and 2K miles I have a cracked fog light. Any way you slice it, the fogs should hold up better.

You guys are funny. 2002 and up fogs have been known to crack easier than fogs on most other cars. There have bee several complaints about this.

I realize that. Only NmexMax is disputing the lousy build quality of the fogs. My original post was just a vent.

Does anyone have a hook up on parts besides Courtesy Nissan? thx

your fogs actually don't look bad! Any fitment issues? Is it a tight fit, or do they rattle? Both of mine are cracked (just replaced one aout three months ago and it's cracked again!). If your method works and fits well, I see a lot of people doing the same!

Good work.

Sorry. Hope this helps: Some maxima owners buy and cut clear plastic film and stick it to their foglights to strengthen them and prevent cracks. Maybe you should try that next time. You'll probably pay less than $5 for the clear film and it could save up to $200 in replacement lenses. Just trying to make-up for my earlier nonconstructive post.

Thanks for the hint. I'm not a big fan of Ebay, but that's the best deal I've seen yet.

Do you have a cardomain site? Keep an eye on the regionals section for a meet in Charlotte soon. Later
