HID's....kind a new look?

As some of you know, I just put the 2002-3 Maxima HIDs into my 00. (No, I'm not doing a write-up for it, so don't bother asking, sorry...)

Anyhow, after the small issues with the my OEM lights when "AE-ing" them, I decided there's no way in hell I'm opening up the new HID housings....but still don't like the orange lens.

but....I also didn't like the yellowish clearance/parking light that comes stock, and don't want to switch to a "hyper white" bulb since it will show through blue in the day (cops here in Fairfax don't like that!)

So decided to go the other direction and switch the parking lights over to an orange 194 (Philips) wedge bulb that perfectly matches the turn signals when lit (as you can see in the pics below).....I'd rather have it cleared, but this is the look I like without opening the housing. Just thought I'd mention it since I don't know of anyone who's changed the parking lights to an orange bulb on here...

Also, not new, the "Lexus" fog lights....I think they look even better with the white HIDs than they did with the off-white Halogens...

Here's a few pics, as if everybody didn't already know what HIDs look like

and a couple close-ups...sorry, forgot to clean the lens first. Second shot is with turn signal flashing, of course.

looks really good,

i've been debating doing the yellow fogs myself.

I think you should clear them out when your up for it, and just switch the front sidemarkers to the clear ones. My setup is like that, i got pics of it in my profile.

very nice job irish. i'm not really liking the yellow parking light though. i have polarg M4s in mine and they dont show through as blue at all. you have to look really close and very carefuly before you see a hint of blue.

interesting, the Polag M4's I have in my reverse lights are blue as hell when turned off......

mjg...yeah I know what it looks like (very nice), but not planning to open up the headlights anytime soon. Gotta leave "well enough" alone sometimes, ya know? The other thing is....since my side markers are smoked and not very bright (as you can see in the pic)....I want to have some "orange" up there so the hardcore Fairfax police don't give me a ticket for the dim sidemarkers...

yah i got polarg m4's in mine they do not show through at all, ive been deciding on the lexus fogs or the HID fogs, i know there like night and day but theyre both so nice heh, looks good tho, i really think u shuld try to pull them apart, im an amateur at this stuff and i pulled mine apart, the only thing that happened to me is i got a little of the headlight glue on the lens, but u just use a heta gun and sum rubbin alcohol to get it off, good luck with them

i also tried the orange bulb before deciding to clear the headlamps and get DDEs. if you have 02-03 lights you can only fight it for so long before you're staring at your headlamp through the oven glass.

The fogs are sweet...is that a 'bolt-on' lens or a ion type bulb?

i know exactly what you mean but for some reason you cannot see them almost at all in the clearance light housing. and it matches the HIDs nicely.

wait a minute you have M4s for you reverse lights? arent those supposed to be M6s?

Just installed white super refractor LED's in my marker lights that I bought from VelocityLED's on Ebay. They are a PERFECT match to our HID's. I'll post some pics ASAP. Also put some hyper white LED's in the license plate lights, looks really nice.
