Courtesy Max Grounding kit a33 3.5

Heres some pics of the Max grounding kit. and also pics of the instructions with mounting points.

the kit is awesome quality and for lazy butts like me, worth the measily $80 bucks they want for it. You could make one yourself no doubt. and i listed the lengths of each wire below pics....

wire 1: 38 inches
wire2: 23 inches
wire3: 14 inches
wire4: 27 inches

all the wires have one terminal facing the opposite direction of te otherside as seen in the pics.

maybe this will help some of you do-it-yourselfers who are too poor, cheap or frugal to spend the $80 on courtesy nissans kit.(jk, nobody key my car ok )

i'll post pics of it installed after i put it in tomorrow.
thanks,
Brian

ok, heres the pics with the grounding kit on my car:

Impressions....

Man, these wires do more than look pretty, My gauges glow brighter...my tranny shifts smoother, my idle is dead silent...and the power is instantaneous now. before sometimes my car wouldnt downshift to the correct gear or just kinda bog out. now it's got the same attitude my 05 alti3.5SE has. if this car had the 5spd auto it would definately be alot better but this mod helps this 4spd get up and boogie. Now im gonna have to go back to the "test track" and see where my max and alti stand with eachother again. last time (alti) 1 1/2 car length.

Why is this

Why is this kit labeled for 3.5 onlys. Can you use this kit on the 3.0 or does it involve a different kit ?

do you have to leave the plastic shroud off the engine when its installed? do the wires interfere? i wanna get the blehmco one, but i want my shroud on there too.

I am just not sold on these yet. I am not sure why but to me it seems like just a way to throw your money out the window.

everyone ive seen buying these says the same thing about them. if all those things happen, especially solving that G0D DAMN 1-2 shift problem our cars have at low speeds, ill give Matt $45.

i misquoted the 1-2 shift...i knew that wasnt right, but i drew a blank. this is what matt states from his kits

You gain a little power (1-2hp or so)
engine runs smoother, especially in the middle RPM range
less noise in the stereo due to the alternator being better grounded
auto trannies shift a bit better, helping to get rid of the lag when you try to do a downshift, or when it tries to stick in 3rd gear when you slow and don't come to a complete stop.

are you taliking about the lagging shift? thats only corrected by taking it to nissan for the slipping tranny tsb. i got that one and the sluggish acceleration tsb done. my car runs like a champ now.

no, not the lagging shift. he is referring to when you are rolling to a light or something, goin about 3-5 mph, usually in 3rd i guess, and then the light turns green or whatever, and you hit the gas, the car could lag for half a second or so before it "finds" the gear it wants to go to and you take off. he is saying the ground kit should take care of this as well.

unless im misinformed about the lagging shift thing, i thought that was only on 6 speeds. but im sure this kit will work differently for everyone, to an extent.

its just more grounding points. instead of just a negative battery cable doing all your grounding, its these 5 cables grounding it as well, providing more grounds, which is a better ground.

kinda like using those 3 prong plugs in your house instead of 2, haha.

I dont understand what this does. As Far as I know, this would be the same mod as getting wider tires on my back 2 rims. Please somebody explain why grounding your tranny and engine makes it better. I have played with electronics my whole life, never have I seen upgrading the ground wires w\o the positive wires being larger. thnx, glad u like the mod.

why is it that nissan doesnt just do this from the factory? You would think it would make sense since its so cheap. Its things like that, that make me think nissan's quality is going down hill. It's too bad too because they have such a good rep for reliability, but it seems like as the years go by, they cost cut more and more.

why dont they do a lot of things from the factory? to save a buck. what is the percentage of nissan maxima drivers on this forum? 5...maybe 10? most people dont notice a lot of the things we notice, so nissan doesnt include these things in the vehicle. they could do a LOT of things that the aftermarket does for cheap, but they dont, cuz of the money.

Grounding kit is actually an option on the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo!

and grounding kits help just about all manufactured vehichles. because just about all aren't grounded nearly this well from the oem.

yeah but if its bad enough to where you can actually hear radio interference from not having certain things grounded. Or if it hinders performance, you would think the factory would make sure it was taken care of before production. The more and more stories I hear about nissan, they're starting to sound like ford and gm.

theres no reason why this kit wouldnt work ona vq30. you just may end up having to alter a couple of grounding points, as they are different engines. that being the case, might as well pick up a universal kit from southwestautoworks and save a few duckets!

Does anyone know the difference between the grounding kit and this stabilizer? Is it better then the grounding kit or just another knock off in a big box?
