rear turn signals

my rear left turn signal blew out...i read from this site that the replacement bulb is a 1156...i bought the 1156 bulbs, and when i tried to change them, the new 1156 bulb didnt fit. i looked at the bulbs, and everything was similar except two prongs on the base of the bulb. the new bulbs i bought had two prongs directly across from eachother, like this -0-...whereas the stock ones i was replacing were kinda like this *0-...this is kinda weird i kno...but basically if neone knows netin about changin my 2001 rear turn signal bulbs, please help. one of my blinkers are out so its kinda important..thanks

i had the same thing. you can try that bulb number above unless you want to file down one of the prongs. i had the same thing come up a while back and just filed one prong (doesnt matter which) and you should be able to put it in the socket and turn to lock.

you can just take a dremel, grinder, or file and shave one of the nubs down. It will work fine then, and will still lock in just fine.

I filed one of the pins off. Has worked fine...no problems since I did it about 9 months ago.
