Post Your 5th Gen Rim Offset Pics Here:
While browsing wheel threads, I've always noticed that people are always asking about offset/how flush rims would be/ etc etc etc on the 5th gen maxima...and I'm sure there are many people who don't really understand what "offset" is and how rim width and offset will affect the look of your vehicle......
obviously one can figure out how much farther out (or in) rims will be based on the offset and the rims width vs. OEM rims, but a picture is worth a thousand words, and makes it alot easier
so....in this thread, post pics of your wheel offset, and specify a few things:
1. type of rim (not brand, just whether it is inset spokes with lip or if they are flush spokes)
2. rim size (diameter AND width)
3. offset
4. tire size
5. also note if you're using spacers
not trying to turn this into a wheel-showoff thread, just keep it all about the offset! There are plenty of other threads talking about various brands of wheels and tires!!
I'll post an example below, and would also be nice if some guys with OEM 17's and OEM 16's could post pics too....
remember, needs to be the closest angle that it can be (put the camera right next to the car door and shoot)
my example:
1. flush spokes, no lip
2. 18x8"
3. 30mm offset
4. 235/40/18
5. no spacers

?, why are people posting about having a lip or not? The lip has nothing to do with the offset. The offset is where the wheel mounts on the hub. Now before people say, yeah, but if it is flush mounted it's different, make sure you understand a +38 is a +38. The way companies like Axis create the lip is making the spokes of the wheel curve back in to the rim. A true dee dish rim would have a negative offset. The way the spokes come in on my wheels I almost doubt I could get away with a big brake kit in the front because of caliper clearance and that is with 19" wheels.
So, off my rant, why are people posting about the lip? I also think that most people can determine whether or not you have a lip by just looking at the pictures.
Also, how about getting that diagram put together?

I want to get the Hiro from axis but they are a 8.5 width and i have the Progress rear sway bar which made my brake line in the rear extend from its stock spot and i want to know if i can fit those on my max. has anyone seen how much room is left on an 8.5 inch rim with a 35mm offset befre it will rub on the rear. also has anyone lower the car and used 8.5 but had the tire rub on the front while turning. I want those rims but i have my concersn for the width being too much
