I have

I've beaten 2 of them, and lost to one...it's always damn close...but those were all before I got my y-pipe. I haven't been able to find one since I installed it....

Talk is Cheap.......

I currently own a Supercharged Regal GS (1999) w/ nothing more than a strut bar, full synthetics, and k/n filter. It will out pull any factory 2001-2002 Mustang GT......it will eat my 2001 Maxima SE/AE for lunch. I love the Max but no way.......I'll pull on ya' without trying and I'll leave the air conditioning on to boot. The horsepower may seem close (245 vs 217) but the lowend torque makes it no comparision. With traction control in the off position, the Eagles with light up the front for 1/2 a city block !!!!!!
(sorry.....no flames.....but GTP has same 3.8 w/ SC)

I beat one just the other day, we both were on a roll and floored it just after a green light, I pulled about a car in 2nd. gear and he let go.

Race two, killed one, the second one was a bit closer, but still a win.

First one was stock, second one had K&N and exhaust. Both from a dead stop... both when i had my 18s on.

Stock one's are a good race for a 5 speed Maxima. I saw a guy at the track that was running 13.3-13.5 in his 2000. He had some mods of course. If they get the smaller pulley for their SC, it will be almost impossible to beat, unless you have mods of your own.

i was looking to buy the gtp or regal ,i found the gtp was faster due to being slightly lighter same with the bonnaville which is the slowest of the three, from my experiance the acura cl-s pulls much harder than a gtp above 70mph,with your mods i can't see a regal gs beating a new mustang gt but beating the driver maybe

Your sig. doesn't say - do you have a 5spd Max? Where are you shifting? How good is your launch? These are all driver issues you don't have in the slushbox.

In my experience, the 5spd max is an excellent match for a stock GS off the line. Both that I've raced, one stock and one with my y-pipe and SI - I've beaten off the line and beyond. Stock is very close if the max launches well. With y and si, I handily beat a guy at two consecutive lights.

I will say, that I do not believe I could beat one from a roll unless at a speed where I was near the top of a gear. Modded GS will eat a modded 5spd.

Without traction control it will be close as the Supercharged beast cannot keep traction even with 18" Niche Shoks......The car is lighter than the Bonneville SSE's, so we wont even compare the two as Regal GS is lighter and geared better. Mid gear runs and 110 plus street races are for kids that want to get someone killed !!!! Start to finish on a track.....trust me when I say.....I did not trade a Ram Air T/A, for Regal GS, without driving alot of toys with horsepower and TORQUE. We love our Maxima but its underpowered and in need of 3.5 or Supercharger even with DOHC and current 3.0

Really...

there's little substitute for displacement...strap on an SC, mod it, and watch out!
