Finally Decided on HIDs, but which ones?

Hello everyone. I have been away for a while from this site so I'm not up to speed on HIDs. I have ben reading up on them lately. So here is what I am looking for, and please post suggestions, comments, and any help you can give me. Thanks... So here goes:

I have a 2001 max so the bulb is an H4. I would like it to be a plug and play kit so I wouldn't have to splice any wires. I also do NOT want any purple color in my lights, but only blue. The color I am looking for is something like when some1 with an acura or something just turns on their lights, and before they warm up they have a nice bluish color... that's what I'm looking, but also with as much lumens as possible.

In addition I def. want to be able to have high beams not for visibility purposes but so that I can signal drivers, and high beam them in case they **** me off on the highway The only problem is that I have heard that these kits that have dual high/low HID beams only last a couple of months because of the solenoid or something. So pelase guys I really need your help. This is an expensive purchase for me so I want to make sure I get it right the first time. Thanks everyone for your help.

Seems like everyone on the Org is going with the Xtec 375 kit for Umnitzaa for dual high/lo HID kit. You will have some splicing to do though....after looking around at the various options recently, I think I'm just going to go w/ the 02/03's for ease of installation. I believe the Xtec kit runs around $400. Good luck with the decision.

I def. don't want the 02-03 setup because I dont want my lights stolen! Plus I dont want to spend that kind of $$$.

I was just talking to maximabest, and he has some HIDS for a good price, and he said he has some micro Halogen buld on the HID kit for high beams. Any1 have any experience with these kind of lights with a micro halogen that maximabest is talking about? I have personally never heard of this. So can any1 else help me out? Thanks.

just trust us that they do get stolen, since hopefully nobody here is going to be stupid and post exactly HOW they get stolen (for obvious reasons).

if you want a good HID setup you have to spend $$$$ but from the looks of it.. you just want an average rice HID kit..

And as for you zgrm, you can't win everything. You get bi-xenon HID setup, it'll look like crap (waste of money). You can get regular H4 HIDS and put em in your housing (safest way for people living in high theft area), yet you'll loose your high beam. I'm sure you don't want the 2k2-2k3 headlights cuz it'll get stolen. There is no winning in this. Another idea is sell your maxima and buy a Lexus, and no one will touch your HIDS. I'm sure you've done research on your own, there is no answer to your question. There are different solutions and all of them sucks.

Come down to Florida.. the Lexus lights are kind of HOT here in Orlando.....well as I have said in other threads.. they don't care about the housing they only care about the ballast and bulbs.....

i think you're looking for around 8000K lights, 6000K gives off that purplish look, i've never seen 7000K but i know 8000K's are BLUE! when you get the H4 kit, make sure you get a casper adapter to reduce glare for on coming traffic and unwanted scattered light. good luck

HIDs

I installed X-vision HIDs on my 2001 Maxima SE. The problem with them is that they don’t have high beam. You can’t drive fast at night with them and beside that I live in Europe and it would not pass the mandatory technical inspections. Last year I got bi-xenon HID from AutoStyle, they work fine and I have no problem with the solenoids.
