Times like this make me wish I kept certain time slips that show an auto and a 5spd running a 1/4 mile within .200 of each other. It doesn't matter, I've driven a 5spd. It had just about the same mileage as my car, and it didn't feel like a different car at all. Stick drivers can be so elitist it's not even funny.

Wow, you're taking this hard. Realization sucks, I know. But I never said auto are quicker, just stating a commonly overlooked fact. 5spds are faster, yes...but to say that the auto is slow is a lie, because the difference is about .200-.300 if you measure 1/4 mile times. That's about it from me.

 

Wait, you dropped nearly one second in your 0-60 with $300 and you're not happy with it? What were you expecting?

 

not at all, i am happy with 1sec faster by changing Y pipe. I feel my car a lot faster at 4000-6000RPM. May be the fault is on 89octane gas. I will change it next week with 91 or above.

 

Stop using 89 and take your car to a service area to make sure your timing is fine.

 

thanks for making my point. i don't know what kind of trap speeds you run, but in a healthy car, .300 in the 1/4 is a pretty healthy beat-down.

 

Does it make an auto slow? No.
Did I drop a 1/4 number before saying that the difference is roughly .2? Yes.

Anyways, after skimming through all the auto vs 5spd comments here, here is my .02. Place Racing intake places the filter in the drivers side fender well where it is almost completely separated from the engine bay. If you do not have fog lights then I suggest for runing down the track remove the fog light cover out and fresh air will be drawn right into the filter.

I just threw my Cattman Ypipe in the garbage can FINALLY after 5 diff fixes it looked like Michael Jackson after all his plastic surgery. My HS headers make way more low end power that is noticable, and as some of you know my VIAS intake power rod is completly out which kills your low end and midrange power. With HS headers the power is almost all back and top end pull from 75MPH in 3rd gear to 140+MPH is reallllly good. I cant wait for my new VIAS intake to finally come off backorder, I miss the low end power. I'ma do a write up on how to install HS headers on a 3.0L when I get my car on a lift this week for a oil change so I can take pictures.
