Security light constantly lit

Hi,
What does that indicate? Before someone says "use the search function", it's disabled so I can't.
Thanks in advance.

it should be in your manual and off the top of my head i think it means your security system is obviously malfunctioning and to have it looked at but beyond that i am not sure.

Thanks. The manual says that it needs to be checked. I'm trying to find out what to check.

Looking in the 02 FSM, it's probably a switch or something. It's much easier to have it connected to the Consult tool.

Thanks. Any connections or modules we should check? That is, could it be something stupid? It just started. Don't really want to go to the dealer just to have them jumper something or wiggle some connectors.

check the hood switch under the hood- by the battery. Alot of times that thing gets corroded and looses connection with the body controll module and alarm. It could also be one of the door contact switches- does your interior light stay on even with the doors all closed ? if YES then check the door switches one by one- they are switching ground switches. It could also be a bad trunk latch switch, but most likely it will be the under hood switch which is right by the headlight/battery- look for corrosion in the harness connector or even a broken switch.
