Burned out bulbs in dash?

I just bought my car less than a month ago and the bulb that illuminates the odometer is out. Is this common? How hard is it to replace? I don't want to rip the dash open for one little inconvenience.

If I do open up the dash, any suggestions for aftermarket speedo/dash kits?

Not a big fan of the indiglo stuff.

Make sure it's not a fuse. About a month ago I noticed my speedo/radio/rear lights were out. I though it was the bulb but it ended being the fuse under the hood!
