max's with 45% tint
max's with 45% tint
Preferably sterling mist but if you have a max with 46% tint on it please post your pix. Im debating weather or not to get 35 or 45 b/c of legal reasons here in NJ. It would also be helpful if you had a light interior. But any max with 45% will do. Thanks
bro just take pics of ur car with plate and registration befor u put on ur tints and if u get a ticket mail in the pics and the ticket is dismissed...at least that how it is in ny...ohh and make sure u use a camera that doesnt print the dates on the photos like a polaroid camera
Do you really want to go that light? 45% is really light and is not worth tinting...you want to get tint to help keep the car cool? or just for looks? i'm sure your leaning towards the former becuz you just mentioned that you wanted to keep things legal....so i don't think yer goin for looks....
if u want to get tint to keep your interior cool on hot sunny days...then tinting at 45% is worthless and waste of money....for comparison...i use to have 35% fronts and 25% rears....and that barely kept my interior cool on hot sunny days....then I went to 5% all around....the improvement wasn't night&day...but you can tell a difference when u get in the car....i have black leather btw....
I'd say tint them at LEAST 35%.....anything above that is pretty much worthless....heck even 35% is worthless to me becuz I use to have them...no flaming plz becuz this is from personal experience...so I ain't no n00b

NJ Law says ANY tint on the windshield and front sides is illegal. It also says that ANY tint on the rear sides and rear window is legal. (This excludes reflective tint, which is illegal.) So when I get tint this summer, I figure I might as well just do like 20% all around, and hope for the best. It seems (knock on wood) that the ratio of tint fines to those for speeding, white turn-signals, etc. is very low.

50%, while not great, is better than nothing. I'd do it again.

The kid looked like he was going to shi!t.
Moral? You do NOT want to lie to a judge.
check out my cardomain page (see my profile). My car is tinted with 40% film, which comes out to be right before the Maryland legal limit of 35% after applied over OEM glass. I would not recommend 45%, mere waste of money.

Just so you guys know...your max comes with an 8% OEM tint already on the glass. If in doubt take any sharp object and scratch the inside of your glass at some point where it is not noticeable. Now I did not say to get all Freddy Kruger on your glass...a little nick is fine, and only if you are in doubt. Anyway, the point is that any aftermarket tint would be applied on a glass with 92% visibility. Therefore, to remain legal in say MD at 35% the minimum tint to apply would be 40%. This works out (40% of 92%) to 36.8%. The upshot is that any grade tint is multiplied by 92 to get the true grade. This is only for those of you who want to remain legal. All others, including myself, may ignore this geekified rambling and skip to the next post in line.
