Quote: if you are goin to drop dont cheap out on it and make sure you get NONSTOCK REPLACEMENT struts. stock old sturts and lowered springs will make you very unhappy. plus if you do it at different times you will spend two times the moeny for install
FWIW - I've been rolling w/ stock struts on H&R's up front only for over 2 years now w/ no issues. Car rides like stock and my front struts are holding up great w/ the mild drop. But yes, I would recommend aftermarket struts for a more aggressive drop.

I've got the stock struts set up with my H&Rs. Just wondering how many miles per year you drive?

Currently at 34,000 miles (9000mi/yr) so I'm just wondering if I still have a couple years left like you have. The H&Rs were recently installed in Nov 06. The catch is that I'm riding on 19s which aren't that great for the struts. Just wanted to know your opinion on this. Thanks!

PS: Either way in the future I'll go with the Illuminas.

With my Eibachs/Illumina setup I have put around 30k miles on the car already, and now my yearly mileage has gone up DRAMATICALLY. I do 100 miles a day of driving now. So I will be racking up the mileage on them. So far they have been excellent and I have hit New England potholes and frost heaves large enough to get the car airborn, with kidney shattering results but the car was perfectly fine. So I am very pleased to say the least. In my mind there really is no other choice to even consider in the maxima world for aftermarket shocks.

I Know I'm going slightly with this one but sciff; what you cut your bumpstops to?

PS- You can tell by the Illuminas and Eibachs and boots and mounts sitting in my Living room blocking the door that i like it low

Hey where did you get that matching blue eye lid??? i want one!!

Luvin the look with the rims... drop isnt 2 serious h-techs drop the front 1.6 inches and 1 inch in the back...
people for the more level look may go with the progress... lowest even level drop on springs.
H tech and progress springs are the best 2 springs when it comes to a drop and comfort.
S-techs are 2 harsh.
Eibachs own on comfort, but not for those who want the agressive looks...

I hate my progress. They ride like my sprints in my 4th gen. I do have crappy tokico blues(i think they are crap at least) and 19s which i attribute to the crappiness of the ride. sometimes i wonder if preload as added to the springs before install....also my rear sags a good deal. i do have 3 amps a box and 2 type Rs. pics on my cardomain...just wanted to give my 2 cents.

Oh and all Maximas look better dropped.

some of us have different opinions. changing the struts in my eyes i think contributes a great deal. Illuminas are def way better, you may wanna try them out... most people like the combo and have no problem with em. illuminas are a favorite around here

Thank you for your input...
If i change it will be to coilovers. however if i was staying with spr1ngs and struts i'd get the Illuminas for sure. they were pretty decent on my friends 4thgen dropped on GCs...

edit: and my progress sag in the rear. now i do have a system back there but regardless i got saggy *** syndrome.
