Head & Tail light conversion & New Car Decision

Hi all dont flame me pls. This has probably already been discussed.

I'm looking at buying a 5th gen. I like the head & tail lights of the 5.5 gen. Would they fit a 2000 Model? Is there anything else that is needed if it's possible? Also if I find a good deal on the HID's I'd go for those, but I really just like the way the lights on a 5.5 generation look.

I would like to get the 5.5 gen flat out but it's too much $$$ for me now.

Also, your opinions on the 3.5L engine. Is it really worth the extra $5-7K. Am I better off getting a 5.5 gen or what? Thanks guys.

Dude, you should know that it take more than an hour for people to post so don't bump your thread. As far as what you are asking for:

This had been discussed a million times and people like myself will say get the 3.5, but regular old 5 genners will tell you get the 3.0.

Answers- yes, wiring harness for the bulbs. If you like going fast more quickly, get the 3.5. If you like more options for the same price, get the 3.0. I was having the same delima when searching a couple months back, and I went w/options (aka a 2k1). I've found that in 98% of my daily driving situations the 3.0 is fast enough. Ultimately it's up to you what you buy and can live with.

get the 3.5 engine, you won't have to worry about the VIAS issue, you;ll have your taillights and headlights you want, and youll have more power. if you can save the money go for it. if not, make sure you fix the VIAS issue on the 3.0.

Would installing an intake get rid of this problem? Or is it better to keep the stock air box set up.

i spose it would make no sense to put the 3.5L throttle body on the 3.0L....wouldn't even fit right?
on the other hand, what about a MEVI from a 4th gen?
