Jacking up rear of 5th Gen Maxima

How do you guys jack up the rear of the car?

For example, I want to rotate my tires front to back and back to front (they're directional, so cannot do side to side). I jack up the front, put a jack stand on each side, then jack up the rear from the rear center brace which goes across (what would be the axel) the width of the car between the wheels. Any idea if that is safe to jack from? It sure seems like it is, so I've used it 2 or 3x now without a problem, but worried I could weaken or break it long-term..

Your thoughts?

Seems fine to me... that's what I've done in the past too... although another .Org member suggested alternative spots... see the image below:

Oooh, not only a reply but a picture as well! Awesome!

OK, yes, that is the spot I'm talking about.. I'm glad it's safe.

Interestion comment about "Ben's Stand Points" being different from the "Safety Stand Points". Are Ben's less safe, or just more stable? The Nissan-recommend aka "Safety Stand Points" suck, they are like thin metal strips under the side skirts, and they are a paint to get lined up right and I've seen them bend slightly under pressure.. :-\

That's because the safety stand points are for the OEM emergency jack with the grooves to go onto the frame... regular garage jacks w/o some sort of adaptor to go over the groove will bend those thin metal points (as I have already done)...

Here's what ya need:

I'll see if I can find ya the thread on that....

Thanks, but I think I'm gonna stick with the jack and stand points shown in the diagram, which is from the FSM....
