Hi all; Does anyone have any published long term drive tests for the 5th gen that would show avg. overship cost per mile?

Working on getting more comp from the boss for mileage.

I did a cost of ownership study of sorts on my car. I factored in the cost of insurance, fees, repairs, purchase price, fuel, and maintenance. I came up with about $0.28 per mile over the life of the car to date. That's not quite 10 years, 210,000 miles (and still running great!). Brings total cost of ownership to about $58,000 over that time and milage.

When I used to travel for work they were paying me $0.375 per mile, and I was driving as much as 1000 miles per week, so I was making a decent amount of money doing something I love (in addition to my actual job).

 

Thanks for the replies; the current IRS max for non taxable is $0.425 which is what my employer pays... these gas prices are killing me. I drive all over for work.

Thanks; if anyone has a study that includes the calculation assumptions (ie gas, oil, tires, misc.) that would be best... not sure if any of the car mags have long term drives published; I looked but couldn't find. This way I can re-calc with today's gas prices and ask for an allowance.
