I replaced my MAF, then this problem started. It doesn't happen all the time though. Sometimes the car will stay on, like right after I start it, but sometimes the RPM's will drop all the way down and the car will turn off.

the MAF is definitely a DIY job (from what i hear..i havent had to replace mine yet knock on wood).. look in the stickies for DAVEB's number (i believe that's how he writes it...there are two Dave B.s on the .org) ... call him and he can get you a new MAF for under 100 shipped...

uhhhm syne164, i have the same damn car, n it was never my maf. everybody on the org likes to pin or blame every problem they get with the max on the maf. yeah granted most max's have maf , o2, and cat issues. but did you even try to get the code pulled at all before just assuming its the maf. i had a similar problem with mine and it ended up being the fuel pressure regulator. just to give you a heads up, in case its not your maf. good luck just thought i'd share that with ya bcuz i have the ae and my fpr went out at around 45k

yah def go down to an autozone and tell them to "pull your codes" and theyll do it for free i went down today and they pulled a p0174, which is fuel injectors are running too lean, takes about 5 minutes

i had a similar same problem -- my car would start fine, but it would die at idle when it was warmed up. the only way i could keep it from dying on me was to give it throttle all the time.
i pulled the code at autozone, and it turned out my IACV (idle air control valve) was dead. the valve is supposed to let air in when the engine is idling and the throttle is closed; mine was busted, so no air was getting to the engine => car would die.
pull the code! it'll point you in the right direction
