How to install front door speakers?
How to install front door speakers?
Can someone please tell me how to install front door speakers?
I have a 2001 Maxima GXE and it is time to put some new speakers in.
Checked the front doors but the factory speaker grilles seem to be part of the door panel. Do I have to remove the door panels? How if so?
Thanks!

There has to be a sticky on this.
Well I would highly recommend that you first get a panel removal tool so you dont break anything.
You have to remove the door panel. Get the screws out by the lock, and the screws out where the arm rest is.
Then slip the panel removal tool from the bottom of the panel and start lifting. Be patient, and dont break anything.
The factory wires will have to be modified. I doubt that you will simply plug them in the conector.

Ohh, what a pain in the ***! Nissan is stupid in many ways, as we all know.
Why don't they just make the speaker grille removable? You are right that the factory wires have to modified per Crutchfield.com
Thanks again.

not really, well if the gxe is anything like the gle you can just use the white braket that was on there and screw you aftermarket stuff on top, you just gotta cut out the backing so the depth of the speaker will fit.
if you got this than you could just use it...
Its very easy to take the door panel off. first where your contols are there is screw in there, you have to pop the cover off and you could just popped it off. Take a very some flat head screw driver and remove the a piece around the door handle be very careful you could crack it. On the corner of the door there is another screw to take out pop the cover and remove the screw. after you do that just start popping the panel off the door. Once you do that pull out the wires off the panel and unplug the light. I put 6.5 inch speakers on my maxima and I didn't you use no speaker brackets I used the factory brackets, the white brackets I just put the 6.5 speaker in there and I drilled screws into the bracket. Its not that hard
