Feeling a loss of power...

I usually don't beat my Maxima nor speed excessivly on the highway. Today some ****-wipe was going slow so I decided to throw it in 3rd on the highway and take off to pass him. Maybe it's just me, but it felt like I had no top end power at all. From 4,500 RPM's to redline, it just didn't feel like it used to. I got it with 36,000 and it just turned 60,000, and maintained very well. The only "mod", if you would call it a mod, that I have is a Berk Intake with just the cone filter, no chrome pipe. Any ideas? Do you think it's just me or does my Maxima have a problem?

I would say it sounds like your VIAS is gone.....you should do a search for the VIAS fix and take a look at it.

Hey Just a thought but maybe your Maf is done for. Do you still have the original Maf on there?

did u hear a louder sound when the RPM went past 5000? if u did the Vias should be fine.... if it sound climbing constantly... then maybe your vias need a JB wield....
because you should be able to hear when the Vale is open....

Or you can pop the hood and manually rev it beyond 5,000 @ the Throttle body and watch for the brass arm under the intake to move. I don't seem to notice much noise difference in mine when it kicks in especially compared to the way my previous Taurus SHO kicked in @ 4K.

I am experencing the described loss of power, car runs out of power above 4K and is pretty much done at 5K, runs great at below 4K. Just took the VIAS out and it appears to be fine and solid to the shaft. What next? I guess I can put it back together and try to chek movement of the soleniod at 5K rpm. Is there a check for the MAF? Any other ideas?

Thanks
