Actually considered getting rid of the Max.

Last year, the company that I work for went from privately held to publicly held. Being 30, impulsive and in the middle of an IPO, what do you think the first thing that crossed my mind was? That's right, car shopping. So I gathered a list of contenders and weighed them against my '02 6-spd SE. I looked at the Infiniti G35, Audi S4, Cadillac CTS-V, Volvo S60R & BMW M3. I even considered the WRX STi and Lancer Evo. Anyone paying attention may notice a common theme... these sedans can all be had with manual transmissions (I will only buy an auto if & when I become physically unable to drive a manual).

The more I looked the more I realized that I love my Max way too much to get rid of it so I decided to stop looking at replacement sport sedans and started looking at adding something more sporty. So what was next? This time the contenders were: Honda S2000 (or S2200 technically), 350Z Roadster, G35 Coupe, C5 Corvette Convertible, BMW M Roadster, Mercedes SLK350, Mazda RX8, Porsche Boxter S and, again, the M3 as it's still one of my all-time favorite cars.

In the end, my Max got the most unlikely stable-mate. A car I hadn't really thought about until I got the chance to drive one.

nice ride, if you have the money then go for it. im poor so i cant afford anything. you should just sell both and get a m6. i think those rides are sick as hell. i wonder if the m6 is faster then the vette.

I'd probably jump ship if I could find a really good deal on a manual transmission M3 coupe that was a 2k4 and up. Not many other cars would do it for me unless I could get a left hand drive SKYLINE v-spec.

I was out just earlier tonight and realized again why I kept the Max. When I drive the Vette, everyone wants to try and run me. I had a Mercury Villager chase me down on the freeway to see if I'd go. Cops eye me as I cruise by. But no one gives me a second look when I'm in a white 4-door grocery-getter. That is until I light it up and I'm gone before anyone realized the light turned green.
