stop the hatin'

I just located this thread from 2004 bashing on me:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=290230

I think I should be given a chance to defend myself since I never knew that thread existed until now. For one, I had not updated my cardomain site since 2003. Those HP numbers I wrote about came from ignorance; I had no idea how crazy they sounded. I have learned a lot since then and have updated my page to correctly reflect my current HP (about 280). Thanks to all of you for the constructive criticism, but all of the bashing was not necessary. At least some of you got a good laugh from my page.

http://members.cardomain.com/bitemytaco (updated 4/27/05 finally)

I hope you all will forgive me for embarassing the ORG (and myself)... it won't happen again LOL

You got big time. Is that a GTR badge on the grill?

If people post bs hp numbers then people will post bs comments about it. Not that hard to fathom right?

We can dig up the thread of the guy who painted his headlight housings blue and had all the blue vynal stickers if it'll make you feel better.

The 280 HP you corrected it with seems a bit on the high side too.

It's not the end of the world. Besides it's the internet, crazier and stupider (not a word but it works here) **** has been said so don't take it too hard. Everyone was once misinformed about cars at one point or another. But that was pretty funny stuff you wrote.

Yeah, I know I got owned, but that doesn't mean I can't redeem myself.

I was obviously embarassed that I made such ridiculous claims

I remember that thread. It was funny to read it again. At least you admitted your mistakes.

280 sounds high as well unless you are spraying a smaller shot. if you think you have 280 then why not dyno and post the results? the highest confirmed posted whp from a 3.5 all motor is 263 and that ran a 12.8 @ 108.

I am guessing 280 at the crank, not at the wheels. I don't have any idea what it might be at the wheels, so someone please tell me where to get a cheap dyno run. I don't think 25hp over stock (255) is too outrageous with intake, headers, full exhaust, and timing advance (had that done yesterday).

I have a ton of new pictures to upload since the car looks different than it did in 2003. Also with my spare rims - 18" off a 2005 Murano (for road trips).

Eh - so what? Yes, you made some claims that are in reality ridiculous. And some of the org guys flamed you for it, because the claims WERE ridiculous.

But the fact that you were wrong, in an amusing fashion , doesn't mean you should be too worried about it, or that you're a dolt (you may BE a dolt, but this doesn't prove it ).

So don't sweat it - a golden rule on how much to care about things is how you'll feel about it in a month. If you'll have forgotten about it by then, likely not worth worrying about it now.

Peace.

I'm taking the GT-R off the back because I think it looks stupid now. But that front grille looks too empty without something on it. Any suggestions? Maybe an SE-R logo or regular NISSAN logo?

25 over stock is not a big claim but most people reference whp instead of crank because it is not exact. tranny loses certain amount of power and for our purposes, it is just a given number instead of exact. you may be dissapointed in the headers because a few members dynoed the stillen headers and lost power in some rpms and gained only a few hp in others. i could not tell you where to dyno unless you were close to me but you may want to have it done just for your knowledge. you will also find as others have is the 255 hp is overrated and the torque was underrated from nissan.

I like the way your car looks personally except for the stickers and badging. No comment about the HP claims as I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to that. 03 Black Titanium is a good choice!

I think all the bashing is unnecessary. I hate it when people say $hit on the internet that they would not say to one anothers face. If someone does something like this, don't bash them for it but inform them because more than likely they don't know enough to know better. Its kind of like dealing with a kid
