Is there a way to program your key to start the car. I only have one key and the clip broke so I bought another transpoder key and I know the dealer charges like $45 or $50 to program it. So are there any tricks to doing it yourself, like putting in the original key and flashing the headlights twice, locking doors eight times, and pushing the accelerator? LOL!

I know you could program the alarm remote yourself so maybe there's a way to program the key.

It's 6 times. You should be able to get it on the first try.

You need a Consult II to program the chip to work with the car.

You cannot program the key to our cars yourself. I went through the same thing. I purchased a key on ebay and took it to Nissan figuring I would at least save a few dollars anyway but the savings were just that, a few dollars. They had to have all keys (wifes, new and valet), then they need to reprogram the car's system and all the keys to a new code. It cost me about 50.00 in dealer labor and 16.50 for the new key on ebay.

I forgot, but it's relatively simple, takes about 30 secs. I'll try doing a search for you, if not, ask..... these guys are good.
