i just did this mod like 2 days ago on my 02 max. a quick splice is a thing you can use 2 hook up 2 wires without cutting one, the quick splice part is simple, cut the blue wire with silver spots coming out of the foglight relay, leaving more wire on the relay side than the wire coming out of the wire loom. then you take the end that is cut and put it into the side of the quick splice that only allows a cut wire to go into it, next put the red wire with a green stripe with silver spots in the side of the quick splice that allows the whole wire to go through it. then the quick splice has a metal clip in the middle of it that you press down that cuts the rubber on both wires and squeezes the bare metal on both wires, connecting both wires quickly, a.k.a. quick splice. u can buy these "quick splices" at radio shack, get the blue ones, they are the right size for the small wires you are spliceing. any q's lemme know. GOOD LUCK!!!!

I just did this Mod too. My only issue is that it negates the auto switch for the fog lights. Unless I did it wrong. Since the mod I've left my fogs on (2) times already but Damn it looks cool.

I would say that you did it wrong. My fogs go off with the parking lights. Thats the way the 2002 rewire it supposed to work. On with Parking lights but still off with High Beams. The "AUTO" switch is for all lights including headlights.

I have a 2000, and maybe I did splice into the wrong wire. My fogs can now be turned on without the car running. Anyone w/ a 00-01 that can offer some insight? i used HOUSECORS write up for the install and followed the diections for the 00-01's. I agree w/ you that the AUTO switch should still work.
